‘Turtle Reef’ was one of the first marine life pieces I had painted. I wanted to combine my passion for the sea with my fascination with what lied within the skies above. I was driven to show others the similarities between these two worlds. The depths of the ocean, and the endless expanse of the night sky, are the last two great frontiers we have left to explore, and it’s incredible to image what we have yet to discover.
This is the mural which was inspired by that original painting. The ‘Turtle Reef’ mural was an honor to produce, and incredibly fun to paint. From the twelve by twenty-four inch painting which started it all, arose the concept for this larger than life recreation. This twelve by nine foot mural was painted on nine aluminum panels to form one image portraying the beauty of all aspects of our natural world.
